Ali Shah Hashim

56, a chartered accountant of the Malaysian Institute of Accountants (MIA), a certified practising accountant of the CPA (Australia).  He obtained his ADIA from ITM and later his Masters in Law (L.LM) from the IIUM.  He started his career in 1980 as an auditor with Peat Marwick Mitchell & Co (now, KPMG), and then moved on to head the inaugural internal audit department of Mayban Finance Corporation Bhd.  He taught at MARA Institute of Technology and University Putra Malaysia before he co-founded Ash.Hiani Group in 1990.  He was formerly member of the panel of academic advisors of the Faculty of Accountancy, UiTM and the board of studies of KLIUC and chief examiner of corporate governance of ICSA.  He actively contributes to MIA in various capacities, writes books, articles and deliver talks on tax, corporate governance and corporation law. He sits on board a number of companies.  He now practices as a company secretary, licensed tax agent and approved auditor and is the managing partner of Ash.Hiani Group.
